Sax Big Lip, and I love the sound. It's bright but not too edgy, and it's a beautiful sax for the price. I'm using a Link Supertone 8 and Hard Rico Plasticovers. The Yamaha 875EX II is definitely one of if not the finest alto saxophone made whether Wally argues such or not. The only disagreement I have with Wally is the quality of the V1 neck. I do not think you are an idiot, especially since you evidently appreciate black lacquer. But I'm puzzled by the enthusiasm for copies of old mouthpieces. I've been browsing/shopping for a new contoured tenor case and on Amazon have seen the brand Crossrock cases that are supposedly made of fiberglass that look sturdy and nice. And the neck profile (other than the bore) is very different, very Selmer-like (if not a Selmer-copy). Keys are different, key cups are very different.
